These are photos of the tall grass and shrubs near a pond in my neighborhood. I took the photos because the bushes all had an interesting similarity in the way they grew. One of the more difficult things about taking the photos was balancing the bright sky and dark plants. I am happy with the way the photos turned out, however I feel they may be a bit over exposed.
This is a photo of a tree that had been cut down. I did not have any specific intent for taking these photos, I just wanted to take interesting photos. The tree is a 10 minute hike from the nearest trail and had been left undisturbed since it was first cut. one of the difficulties was the shadows of the other trees. The other trees casted large shadows that made it difficult to get good lighting.
These photos are of the tree that I used to climb when I was younger. The nails represent the age of the tree, the tree has been around long enough for the nails to rust and warp. The second photo shows the one tree that stands alone in a small clearing. It represents power and greatness with all of its branches pointed towards the sky.
These are photos of trees that have either rotted or been infested with bugs or both. The first photo was very difficult to get because the tree branch sat on a log that was stretched across a river. I almost fell in the river multiple times and found it extremely hard to balance. The second photo was easier to get but there was a swarm of bees living in the stump so I wasn't able to get very close.
This moss was found near creek running across a nature trail. I really enjoyed the vibrant colors of the moss and the dark greens mixed with the bight red.
